NMC launches new website
As part of its systematic effort to enhance students and the community's access to timely and useful information, services, and programs, the Northern Marianas College unveiled yesterday its newly-redesigned website.
The website offers some of the practical features as the previous site; however, NMC has made a more user-friendly interface with an updated look and expanded functionality. Current students can access course schedules, download individual degree plans, or directly access their email. Prospective students can peruse admission information, tuition rates, look for financial aid options, and request for brochures.
Community members are now able to look up career opportunities, download forms, and also learn about the different projects currently being undertaken at NMC. Alumni members can download transcript request forms or sign up for the NMC Alumni Association.
“The website was designed with the guiding principle that students come first at NMC,” said NMC president Dr. Carmen Fernandez. “We wanted to make their online experience efficient as well as enjoyable.”
“The new site is a vast improvement from the last one,” said NMC student Jessica Wasisang. “Not only is it more interactive, but it is also much easier to find information and also learn about announcements and upcoming events.”
The new website, located at www.nmcnet.edu, also chronicles the faculty, staff, and students efforts toward meeting accreditation standards. This information has been placed on the home page to emphasize the importance of sharing the college's progress in this regard.
“While we are excited about the launch of the website. I wish to stress that its success will depend on its continuous improvement,” said Adrian Atalig, NMC IT Director. “Any comments and suggestions on how to make the site better will be appreciated.”
